American restore is a television reality series which follows Rick Dale, his family and their antique restoration business in Las Vegas. Rick Dale, his family and their team worked for six seasons to restore classic American antiques in their original condition. In the process of restoring America's history, Rick and his crew also helped preserve American culture by restoring classic antiques back to their original condition.

The show's original cast included Rick Dale, his wife Kelly and their teenage son Tyler, who all worked at the Rick's Restorations shop in Las Vegas. Rick's younger brother Ron appeared with them.

As a spin-off from Pawn Stars the show followed Rick's family and their antique repair shop in Las Vegas. The show was first produced by Leftfield Pictures. Seasons 5-6 were then moved to History Channel.

Rick and the crew were assigned to restore a wide range of items, from gas pumps and soda-machines to family heirlooms. The clients included a mixture of regular people and celebrities such as singers Billy Joel, Jason Mraz and others.

They enjoyed the process of restoring these antiques. They often had to put in a bit of elbow grease, as well as some TLC. Sometimes, however, they would come across items which were not worth the money or time it would take to restore them.

It was still very entertaining and a big hit with the audience. The show even appeared on History's hit Pawn Stars several times, becoming a favorite with Danny "The Count".


Apart from the countless old antiques, the show also had many unique and memorable aspects. One of these was the bets that the crew would make with each other.

When they decided to restore an arcade strength test machine, they played a game. They would receive a specific amount of cash depending on who won. They also repainted a 1950s Kotex vending machine pink for a breast cancer fundraiser auction.

The sandblasting habit was also acquired. They quickly got used to sandblasting, which wasn't part of their usual workday.

Brettly Otterman from Rick's previous marriage was also a big part. He was an excellent picker, and he could also do well with sandblasting.

Kelly is also a part of the cast. She's a successful estate agent who has learned to embroider. She helps Rick manage the business daily and is Tyler’s mom.

Rick and family were fired from the History Channel show after just a few episodes. The show's final and seventh season was based on this, but did not feature Rick's Restorations Las Vegas. Five other shops were instead showcased.
